Meet Jay and Swift
Jay and Swift are Felix Clement (England) and Meidi Goh (The Netherlands).
We met while touring and found we both share a deep love for folk music, history and the language and storytelling that knits both together.
We've found working together both inspiring and creatively exciting: to bring to the stage folk songs that we feel work really well in a man-woman duet dynamic, or are less generally known, but bring so much richness to the folk universe. We celebrate the historical richnes and craft of traditional folk songs. And we give voice to the playful, the naughty and romantic and the sorroful longing of love.
Because our band straddles international borders and this set up allowes us to explore roles and roads less travelled than our other projects, every concert is a special occasion.
Felix is an English multi instrumentalist. He won a scholarship from the Princes Trust to study at BIMM (Brighton Institute of Modern Music) in the U.K where he was taught by virtuosos such as Guthrie Govan (Hanz Zimmer, Dizzee rascal, Asia,) and Damien Morris (Sugababes, Moby.)
After leaving music college Felix has played over a thousand gigs in over thirty countries. Notable among these are performances at Glastonbury festival, Boomtown, Isle of Wight festival and Alexander Palace. He has performed as a metal guitarist, a folk accordionist, a singer songwriter and a spoken word poet. His music features heavily on six internationally released albums that have gathered millions of streams.

Meidi grew up playing and singing in baroque consorts with her mother, a music teacher, who studied Ancient Music at the Amsterdam Conservatory during her childhood. After starting on the violin and singing lessons, she switched to tenor viol (viola da gamba) and later added the bass viol and medieval fiddle to her instrumental repertoire.
Her love of storytelling, folk music and the polyphony, poetical grace, romance and naughty tongue-in-cheek of Elizabethan music has given her a genre bridging expression and passion. While with bands like "AmmA", Medieval Folk Band "Imbue" and her own current project "Meidi Goh & Heartstrings" she has played festivals like Castlefest, The Midwinterfair and Middeleeuws Winschoten. Working as a musician with storytellers and a historical theatre group has seen her performing at childrens schools, castles and professional stages.
She has collaborated internationally with numerous folk projects, co-recorded five albums and released two solo albums: "Heartstrings" and "The Robber Girl". Jay and Swift is a project where she utilises her classical refinement to furnish traditional folk music with elegant melodies and sophisticated harmonies. Her current active band projects are "Idun's Apples", "Heartstrings" and "Jay and Swift".
